Phinney Ridge Tudor Renovation

This house was bought by Paul Michael Davis' grandparents in 1948, after his grandfather returned from World War II. In the years since, it underwent a series of renovations which mostly stripped it of its original character and divided it into a lot of cramped rooms.

When Paul's aunt inherited the house, she asked him to design a complete renovation which brought back the original details of the house, but opened up the interior.

We removed one of the main floor bedrooms and designed a new open staircase to connect all three levels in one volume. Skylights and clean, contemporary detailing on the interior make the house a bright, welcoming space, while respecting the house's history.
